Funny

Here are some funny things my kids have said lately:

I tell my kids to put lotion on each day so their skin won't look like a crocodile's.  The other day I was sitting down and Ava got a brush and started brushing my hair.  She said "we don't want you to look like a crocodile.  We want you to look like a Ariel."  [from the Little Mermaid, which she hasn't even seen]

The other day I said we needed to go to Old Navy.  Ava said "Old Ladies?"

We were taking cookies to Ava's angel nursery teacher, named Sister Bailey.  Kaedon asked who they were for, misunderstood, and said, confused, "Sister Bay Leaves?"

I told Ava if she got potty trained I would take her to Chuck-E-Cheese's.  Later in the day she told me "I'm going on a bacation [vacation]."  "Oh really?" I asked, confused.  I didn't know she knew what a vacation was.  "I'm going to Chuck-E-Cheese's because I went on the potty."  (don't I wish it only took once?)

One day Maia said to Emerson "say Mom."  He immediately said "Mom."  Immediately.  Plain as day.  Totally an accident.  But funny.  Of course, the kids have tried many times since to get the same results to no avail.

We passed an unfortunate soul on a corner with a cardboard sign asking for donations.  I had my littlest three with me and was waiting for the inevitable question.  Of course, nice and loud, my 5 year-old said "who is that grown-up with only gums, no teeth?"  (she thought only babies had just gums)

Kaedon and I went out on Black Friday to do a couple of odd things.  We were surprised by all our unexpected deals and couldn't wait to get home and tell Miguel.  First, we got free parking downtown, which we were pretty stoked about.  Next, I got some $19 jeans at GAP.  Then, we were crossing the street when we saw several adults waving signs saying "free hugs."  My first thought was-- weird, weird.  Why would I hug a complete stranger?  But they seemed pretty nice and we were caught up in the excitement of the day, so when they asked us if we wanted a free hug, I surprised myself by saying yes!  One of them hugged Kaedon and the other hugged me and then we traded while we laughed.  I was surprised-- it was quite fun!  We laughed the rest of the day about our "free hug."

I don't want to leave Isa out.  On my birthday, her alarm went off at 4:53am.  I got up and she and Maia had their light on and they were getting ready to go make me breakfast in bed.  I'd had a rough night with the baby, so I thanked them for the kind gesture but asked them to wait until at least 6 before they got up.  They came bringing this in at 6:07:

Cornflakes, a big glass of milk, a small blob of cherry pie, chocolate wafers, and an extra large carrot.  I guess they've been watching what I eat (minus the carrot) for breakfast a little too closely.

They put Emerson in a present bag for my birthday, too.

Whenever I need a good laugh, I come and look at your birthday breakfast and Emmerson in a gift bag. Haha.
